HAPPY CANADA DAY!!
As my very first canada day spent away from home, I might actually be able to go out and celebrate it. That sounds kinda terrible - let me explain. The town that I live just outside of at home has a woman. This woman, I cannot for the life of me remember her name, has spent the last half decade or longer petitioning the city to stop having fireworks altogether. And so, for the past five or eight years, we have had no fireworks. Either that or it rained and they couldn’t hold them anyway. Or I had to work and couldn’t go to another city to see them. For some reason or another - they’ve changed a few times - the environmental impacts, the costs, the location… the list goes on and on and on and on and…. so on.
Needless to say, if you haven’t been following along - I really want to see some fireworks darnit, and Halifax (brilliant city that it is) will be having them. Thank God. Neither hell or high water will keep me from the grand parade tomorrow night, that’s for sure.
In other news - I’m also happy to report that I managed to get last minute ticked to the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo so I am pretty darn stoked about that. I’ve never been before, and I’ve been seeing the commercials for it for the past few years (thank you satellite television) so to finally see it will be the answer to a long running question I guess you could say. That, and there a re a bunch of the troupes, squadrons, drill teams, and such staying here in residence - so after dealing with their loudness, propped doors, drunken foolery and silliness - I kind of want to see what they came here for. :)  Should be a good night.
